WHAT TO WEAR ON VALENTINE’S DAY?

There it is again, coming closer and closer… February, 14th. Rings a bell? Valentine’s day! Ever heard of it? Haha… To some it’s the perfect day to spend quality time with their loved ones, to others it’s just a day like every other. Whether you are or are not in a relationship doesn’t even matter. Every year around this time, we are being bombarded with hearts, love cards, teddybears and ads about romantic experiences we should definitely gift our lover. All cute! But when it comes down to it… what do you wear on Valentine’s day? Is red still the go-to color of love? And should it be sexy or sweet? In this post I am giving you quite a few options.

A touch of red
Whenever we think of love, we think in colors of red. (Do let me know if this is not the case for you!). Red has been the color of blood, aggression and love since forever. It’s powerful and it’s said to look good on everyone. If we have a look at the basic nail polish colors & the basic lipsticks, we may believe so. Now, should it be the color to grab when going out for dinner on Valentine’s day? There is no right or wrong answer, but I would definitely add a touch of red to my look. However, light pink, white and black dresses are also a l w a y s perfect for a date night. Even if it’s the first date!

It’s all in the fabric
Even more important than the color that you are wearing, is the fabric. For example: Leather & denim often come off as cool & casual. On the other hand, silk and satin are feminine and sexy. A little black dress is in everyone’s closet I guess, but black satin dresses are often underrated.

What’s the vibe?
Then of course, it really depends what you are doing. When you go out for dinner with your boyfriend, you might just wanna put on a beautiful top like the ones that I am wearing here. They are all cute and have something sexy. One shoulder, lace, cropped, a choker. I love it! But if you are going to a more fancy place, a dress or a jumpsuit may be a better option. Here, you’ll have a wide range of options. From outstanding sequin dresses for a party vibe to knitted jumper dresses if you plan on going bowling or something fun afterwards.

Final tip:
Don’t get too hung up by what you’ll be wearing on Valentine’s day. Instead, also pay attention to your make up and once you get there: pay attention to the person you’re with. Getting together and having a lovely time is usually barely influenced by what you wear, but moreover by what you say and do.

I wish you all a lovely Valentine’s day in advance!
