MELLOW IN MINT

Is it just me, or did you stick to pastels over the winter too? I would normally say that mint green, lila and salmon pink belong to the summer, but why would we abandon colors like that from our winter wardrobe when it could sweeten up our outfits?

What I love most about pastels is that you can easily combine them to basic colors (white, grey, black) and still make a colorful, but sophisticated outfit. I think that is exactly what I have been trying to do here.

I must admit that most of my outfits contain 3 or max 4 colors. I don’t really know why. It just seems like an unconscious rule to which I adhere all the time.

You may have noticed that lately I have been playing with layers, replacing the waistline. Normally, I wore highwaisted pieces only, but that got boring. So I am trying out some different styles. In the end, I think that styling is all about creativity rather than sticking to what works for you. So here I went and put an oversized sweater on top of a midi skirt. To finish the look I chose this mint coat. The boots may seem kinda heavy, but to stay true to my own style I felt like spicing up the ensemble.

Let me know what you think of pastels and layering!
