Fashion shows, a performance by A$AP Rocky, the launch of Gigi x Tommy Hilfiger by Gigi Hadid herself!, a swimming pool & beachside, lots of cool brands all at one place, and nothing but good vibes. Sounds like an amazing time right?! Last weekend I visited Bread and Butter in Berlin and it had it all. You can imagine that I was kinda thrilled to be there and I am super excited to share my adventure with you guys…
I had heard of Bead & Butter before, but did not really have an idea of what to expect since this was the first time for it to be open to the public. It used to be a trade fair, business to business, where warehouses and webshops could meet & buy collections from brands. But since Zalando has taken over it is more like a trendshow where influencers and fashion lovers can meet and be inspired. A bubbly fashion festival if you will.
So imagine a big hall with vibrant colors and bold designs, where brands like Adidas, Topshop, Mint & Berry, Tommy Hilfiger (and many more!) showcase their newest collections and innovative technologies for us to try. For example, one could DIY a free pair of Vans into a glitter look or have a jacket customized at Levi’s. I even had the opportunity to digitally have my muze outfit created by Google x Zalando. Besides that, there were fashion shows by (a.o.) Puma, Hugo Boss, and Ivy Revel who have recently launched their first collection for Zalando. Also, Marni was showing their newest shoe collection in an augmented reality setting that had all of us stunned. The iconic shoes were shown on a tablet only, and without it physically being in the room one could virtually take a 360 degree look around and inside the shoes. So cool!
But there was more to Bread & Butter. Although I was informed that A$AP Rocky would perform during the first night (which – duh – was very cool!) I found it even more awesome that Gigi Hadid made an appearance and was there in person to launch her collection for Tommy Hilfiger. This of course meant a lot of screaming young ladies, me being one of them (in silence though, as I was getting ready for a selfie with that beautiful woman! haha).
I visited Bread & Butter together with another Dutch blogger, Igrien from The Avantguardian and we really had a nice time. Besides us there were a lot of bloggers and it-girls from other countries as well with whom we had a blogger dinner at the Soho House. I am super honored to have been invited amongst all of them. I like the fact that besides all the impressions we got, we were also able to chit chat in the food area, on the press boat or on the beachside, where by the way there was an incredible swimming pool. Too bad I didn’t bring my bikini!
Like I told Igrien the first night it kinda felt like I was on the coolest summer camp with the coolest people. I hope that my blogpost gave you a bit of an idea of this incredible weekend, but if not, do check my vlog! And please, let me know what you think. Is Bread & Butter a place you’d visit as well?
