HOTEL REVIEW: THE LOBBY RESTAURANT OF THE PENINSULA, PARIS

Delighted. I think that is the word to best describe how we felt after our dinner at The Lobby, the restaurant of the amazing Peninsula hotel in Paris. Words can barely describe how delicious it was, but I’m gonna try…

When we entered The Lobby, me and my boyfriend already knew that this was gonna be good. The hotel is wonderfully decorated and made me think of ancient times with a modern sophisticated touch. Exactly what you expect from Paris.

Before we had dinner we got a tour through the Hotel, which I will tell you more about in my vlog in a later stage. For now we can go with me telling you that I had never seen such a beautiful, well organized hotel. I am honestly not exaggerating when I tell you that the dinner was absolutely exquisite as well. We chose Mozzarella Burrata and Gambas Royale for starters and free-range chicken breast and milk-fed lamb filet as a main course. For desert we had Chou and Figure Melba.

Wanna know how I rate this wonderful restaurant? Let’s go…

FROM 1 to 10: The Lobby restaurant on scale

Food: 9,5
Like I said, words can barely describe how good the food was. I must admit that I am quite a fussy eater. I just don’t like anything I do not know. But since I want to write reviews that everyone can relate to, I have to at least try some things sometimes and I did not regret that! The Lobby serves a wide variety of dishes and it doesn’t really matter what you take: your tongue will have a blast.
Drinks: 9
When it comes to wine I am not that easy either. That’s why I like it when waiters tell me what wine would be best with my dish. And as I will be telling you under category “service” these waiters really knew what they were talking about. It’s funny how I have now better come to an understanding what the right wine can do for your food and tasting.
Service: 10
No, I am not exaggerating with these high rates. The people of The Peninsula in Paris highly deserve a ten for their services. They knew exactly what we needed, and were there for us at anytime making sure we were ok, without being all up on us all the time. Also, they were extremely but sincerely friendly. I also love the fact that they offered us some petit fours from the afternoon tea menu just to show us their dedication to the Pink Ribbon month of October. Kudos!
Ambiance: 9
I know I can be a little shallow sometimes, thinking of what is or what is not beautiful. But don’t we all agree that a beautiful decor does well when you are having dinner with your lover? Besides the wonderful setting we also enjoyed the piano player who sang a lot of romantic and touching songs live during the whole evening.
Location: 8,5
Located in the center of Paris, The Peninsula is a wonderful place to stay. The restaurant is situated on the ground floor and was the first thing we stepped into, which was a little odd but I guess we just took the wrong entrance. My bad!
Recommendation rate: 10
If you haven’t been to the Peninsula in Paris, you haven’t seen anything yet. I cannot wait to go there again. If it’s not for the amazing food or the wonderful interior, it would be for the staff and to thank them for a beautiful evening.

Ready to go there?
